For those longing for a child, carrying the grief of infertility, and holding onto faith in the waiting
▶ Listen in English
Lord, I don't know how to describe what this feels like — the longing for a child I cannot hold, the grief that returns with each empty month, the way hope has started to feel dangerous. I am exhausted from celebrating what I secretly ache for, from answering questions I don't know how to answer, from carrying something this heavy in silence. I don't understand why this is so hard, and I'm not going to pretend that I do. But I trust that You see me — not just my prayers, but my tears in the car, the nursery I've decorated only in my mind, the dreams I've quietly folded away. Hold this grief with me. If there is a child coming — by birth, by adoption, by paths I cannot yet see — make me open to that. And if the road ahead looks different than anything I've imagined, give me the courage to grieve fully and still believe that my life is whole in You. I am not forgotten. I am not less. I am Yours, even here, even now. Amen.
Rachel cried out, 'Give me children, or I will die!' (Genesis 30:1). Hannah wept so bitterly in prayer that a priest thought she was drunk (1 Samuel 1:13). Scripture does not soften this kind of longing — it holds it honestly, without shame. God does not answer the pain of infertility with a quick fix or a guaranteed outcome, but He does answer with presence: He sees Hagar in the desert, He opens Hannah's womb, and in Christ He names every believer beloved — not because of what we produce, but because of who we are to Him.

No soy olvidada. No soy menos. Soy tuya, incluso aquí, incluso ahora. Amén.
